Vaccine Mandates = More Outbreaks in LTC
It’s beyond me that people still claim that these vaccines worked.
It’s crazy to think that many hospitals and LTC homes still won’t hire any employee that doesn’t have at least three COVID shots. In the Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, the LTC even requires new hires to have the recent XBB booster.
But the data is so obvious that these policies have not led to a reduction of COVID. If anything they have led to more outbreaks.
In Sturgeon Falls, Au Chateau LTC released their shocking outbreak numbers last week. They had to disclose that the outbreaks doubled in 2023 despite doubling down on their vaccine rules.
It’s beyond me that people still claim that these vaccines worked (in any way). But it’s even crazier that people not only try to make us believe that they worked but they still think they should be mandatory.
Even crazier than the craziness is that the people making these decisions still act like they live in a delusional reality when they say that these insane rules don’t impact staffing levels. Sure, all the people in their workplaces might be compliant, because they forced out anyone that thought critically. But who the hell is joining the health care sector these days?
LTC homes and hospitals are finding it incredibly difficult to fill positions. And the mainstream media never forces any administrator to discuss if vaccine mandates might have something to do with it.
As of January 26th in Ontario, 23.4% of individuals under 30 have gotten at least three shots.
This means that over 75% of people under 30 are ineligible to work in many health care settings. Over 80% of highschool graduates do not qualify.
The majority of people graduating high school or entering the workplace cannot work in these settings.
And in some settings like Au Chateau in Sturgeon Falls (and others), the requirement that new staff also take the XBB pretty much eliminates the entire population under 40. 8% of Ontarians under 40 have gotten four shots. 8 PER CENT!!!*
*You can confirm any of these numbers directly with Public Health Ontario here.
So I ask again. How the hell can these rules not be impacting the staffing crisis?
When the LTC in Sturgeon Falls released their outbreak numbers for 2023 they also shared the number of critical incidents that occured. These are the numbers that should wake up everyone. The numbers that, if continue to be ignored by administrators, amount to gross negligence.
In a trend that is likely common among many LTC homes, Au Chateau disclosed that they went from 29 critical incidents in 2022 to 53 in 2023. Critical incidents are generally events that result in negligence or mistreatment of residents. And this LTC home of 160 residents had 53 of them in one year….
In their report last week, the board of this LTC home found out that one incident involved a staff being caught restraining a resident with an apron. That is likely just one of the serious violations that occurred in 2023.
There is no way to state that staff shortages are not contributing to this drastic increase.
And there is no way to state that vaccine mandates are not contributing to staff shortages.
It’s not like the media and all of Canada doesn’t already know this. Everyday there is an article about the escalating staffing crisis in Canada.
But nobody wants to talk about the obvious elephant in the room. Thousands of health care workers were fired for their health choice and still can’t go back to work. A choice that has been confirmed to be acceptable (when 85% of Canadians declined the recent shots against the public health advice).
Hundreds of thousands of highschool graduates and people in their twenties are ineligible to work in many settings. They likely avoid the sector altogether because they have no idea what the COVID-19 rules will be next month.
The solution is so obviously simple: Stop judging people based on their personal health choices. End all mandates. That’s it.
