Ontario nurses: Speak up now or forever lose your credibility
Nurses association still lobbying hospitals to keep vax mandates in February 2024...
Last week, the mainstream media finally asked one of the most obvious questions that so many of us have been asking for years now. CTV News wrote a story about “some” experts who believe that hospital staffing shortages could be linked to COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
The craziest part of this story wasn’t the headline but the devastating quotes that are in the story. To their credit, CTV news did a pretty good job on this story. They started by pointing out that at least two hospitals in Ontario recently scrapped their COVID vaccination rules for new staff (Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and Georgian Bay General Hospital). They explain though that the vast majority of hospitals have not followed suit. Then they interview a few experts on the subject who state the obvious.
That (COVID) vaccine mandates have absolutely no scientific basis. For one, because the mRNA shots do not stop spread. And more importantly, because NO ONE IS GETTING THESE SHOTS ANYMORE which clearly impacts the ability for most to work in hospitals. In turn directly affecting the staffing crisis.
As of January 26th in Ontario, only 23.4% of individuals under 30 have gotten at least three shots which is the requirement to work at most hospitals. This means that over 75% of people under 30 are ineligible to work in most hospitals.
Many hospitals and LTC homes (like the one in Sturgeon Falls) even require new hires to have the new XBB.1.5 shot which less than 8% of Ontarians under 40 have chosen to get.

Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
This is where the story gets extremely frustrating.
CTV News interviews one of the strongest health voices in the province, the CEO of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO), Doris Grinspun.
Over the last four years, this association which represents 51,000 Registered Nurses in Ontario has pushed for the most extreme measures. Throughout 2020 and 2021 they continually called on Doug Ford to impose lockdowns.
They were a vocal supporter of the discredited and unscientific “COVID Zero” strategy that aimed to eradicate every last case of COVID. To do this, they proposed draconian contact tracing protocols which some regions embraced. Such as rules requiring homeowners to keep logs of every guest that visit them and be required to turn those details over to police at any time.
In late 2021, they succeeded in pushing every health care setting in the province to fire unvaccinated health care workers. They also pushed for all education workers to be forced mRNA shots.
RNAO is still calling for unscientific mandates in 2024…
Now the CEO is back at it again. In the CTV news article they note that Doris Grinspun is “disappointed that two hospitals have taken steps to remove their policies.” She and the RNAO are actively lobbying Ontario hospitals to not follow suit.
Grinspun claims that vaccine mandates actually help attract staff.
“The best way to attract new staff is to ensure that the staff feel that the hospital deeply cares about them…” - CEO of the RNAO’s justification for vaccine mandates in hospitals. In 2024…
Yes. According to this association, the 51,000 RNs in Ontario only want to work at hospitals that force mRNA shots on staff… mRNA shots that the vast majority have declined to the take over the last two years.
This rationale is so preposterous and disturbing. It likely doesn’t reflect the sentiment of her membership. But still she continues to get away with it. And in the process, she is eroding the credibility of every nurse in the province.
I say this as someone who has previously deeply respected nurses. I lived through the birth of my three children where I witnessed how nurses (not doctors) deliver babies. Obviously the doctors have a role but in almost every aspect of health care, nurses are in charge for 90% of the journey. When my son was born in severe distress, nurses looked after him and are the reason he is alive.
But now I am heartbroken to see this profession so severely embarrassed. Most won’t speak up. Many have mistakenly bought into this stubborn, perverse mentality. With the lack of family doctors, today my family (like many) rely on nurses in local clinics. They are the ones who advise us on what vaccines to give our children, what to look out for. They are the ones we will go see for any health concern in the future. But I have no idea if I can trust them.
If they believe in the rhetoric of the RNAO CEO in February 2024 (or any of the association’s extreme views in 2020-2023), then there is no way in hell I would take advice about my children’s health from them.
If you are a nurse and believe in the future of your profession. If you want to regain the confidence of Ontarians, speak up now or forever lose your credibility.

Hospitals and Emergency rooms are closing across the country and this leftist looney thinks that staffing levels and patient care will be improved by tougher mandates? Everyone knows that the jab does not prevent infection. So other then Liberal dogma what is motivating this woman to call for continued mandates?
I'm betting the only vote came from big pharma not the members. Let's win this thing, annoy them here.
