BAD MOON RISING: Liberals Rebrand Carbon Tax in Partnership with 60s Rock Band
"I hear hurricanes a-blowin"
In light of the overwhelming lack of support to Canada’s unique carbon taxation system, the Liberal government announced yesterday that they would be rebranding the tax.
The extra amount Canadians pay on gas, food or pretty much anything else will not change, however the small sum Canadians receive back every three months will hereby be called the Canadian Carbon Rebate or the CCR payment,.
The new name comes amid a $150M sponsorship agreement with the remaining living members of the beloved American rock band, CCR. The partnership will be managed by trusted government consultant, GC Strategies who just finished finalizing the ArriveCan app at a cost of $60M.
Minister of Labour, Seamus O'Regan made the exciting announcement yesterday alongside fellow MPs. In a release accompanying the name change, the Liberals stated that they chose the new name to get people to think positively about the CCR payments.
After O’Regan’s splashy announcement, speakers started blaring out lyrics to CCR’s most famous song, Bad Moon Rising. Several MPs were witnessed dancing to the apocalyptic tune.
“Looks like we're in for nasty weather”
MP Marc Serré who has faced a lot of pressure in his Northern Ontario riding for supporting the carbon tax, stated that the CCR connection works as a double-edged sword.
“People love CCR and we want to be seen as loving people” said Serré. “But people know that there is a bad moon on a rising if we don’t tax carbon. People hear hurricanes a-blowin' and they know the end is comin' soon”.
Then Serré joined the dancing crowd and told reports “Looks like we're in for nasty weather” forewarning us that they plan on blaming any storm this year to climate change once again.
Although Canada contributes less than 1% of the world’s CO2 emissions, Liberals still believe that it is imperative that carbon tax will avoid worldwide catastrophe.

They not only think we are stupid, at the bottom of their policies is the implicit idea that we have no say in our lives, and that their job is to subjugate us and deprive us of life, liberty and happiness in order to accomolish their goal of permanent and total dominance.
