Au Chateau Admits that Residents are Neglected

A newly discovered document reveals that administration is well aware that neglect and improper resident care is happening.

“Prior to COVID-19, PSW’s could barely keep up with the demands of caring for residents. This created frustration and concerns among staff that proper care was not always provided. With COVID-19, this unacceptable workload added to an already cycle of neglected residents.”

Last week the director of Au Chateau used much needed funds to purchase two full page ads in a local newspaper. His purpose: Slander me and anyone who has asked legitimate questions regarding his administration. After inquiring I have been told that the cost of these ads are $895 plus tax each. So this individual felt the need to spend over $2,000 of precious funding that could be used on resident activities or more equipment on what can only be described as “damage control”.

In it we we were treated with wild statements (likely directed at myself) such as:

“Some in this small group, have published unfounded allegations that Au Chateau is not providing proper care.” - Jacques Dupuis

He is likely referencing my recent published works where I simply reported on serious allegations made by the Chair of his own Board of Management. Last month, prior to being promptly relieved of her duties, Councillor Anne Tessier told West Nipissing council that she had serious concerns regarding resident care. She shared with this council that staff have confidentially confided in her that AU CHATEAU WAS NOT PROVIDING PROPER CARE.

I don’t know why Mr. Dupuis is so offended by my reporting on this. Because he knows what Mrs. Tessier has brought up is true. He has admitted it himself.

Proper care was not always provided… COVID has added to an already existing cycle of neglected residents…

But then then the same author states that I am publishing false allegations that the home is not providing adequate care???

Don’t Trust Your Eyes or Your Ears… Don’t Even Trust What I said 2 Years Ago… Just Trust ME…

Mr. Dupuis might be trying to recreated the dystopian novel 1984, but many of us are not buying it.

Why pretend like everything is great when it clearly isn’t? Why slander us for simply pointing out the issues that lack of staff create? The issues they obviously already know about.

Because they are terrified of the solutions. They are terrified that their stubborn decisions had an impact on the deteriorating level of care (which they did). Most importantly, they are terrified of us pointing this out.

So their solution is to simply discredit us… Slander us... Spend countless public money to make sure no one listens… Call in any favour required to remove “inconvenient board members”… Anything to avoid the truth. Anything to avoid facing the real issues.

The minority that Dupuis speaks of stood outside in the cold, rain and snow and gave up countless hours in the middle of Winter. Not to go “against Au Chateau”. But to finally get them to abandon their stubborn hatred for the ones who made a different health choice. Dupuis hates us because we embarrassed him. A week after he said “unvaccinated caregivers don’t exists” and said he didn’t want to let unvaccinated caregivers in anytime soon, our demonstrations forced the board to override his decision.

The minority that Dupuis speaks of wants to see ALL HEALTH CARE WORKERS rehired. We want an end to unscientific and strictly punitive vaccine mandates. Ending these unnecessary rules and welcoming back ALL STAFF is the easiest step towards finding real solutions. But Au Chateau does not want to. Not for scientific reasons. In my opinion they simply don’t want to let them back because that would send the message that these fired staff ARE NEEDED. It will send the message that they should have NEVER BEEN LET GO.

Slandering anyone who asks questions will not solve the problems at this home. Using much needed public funds to pretend like LTC is not facing a generational crisis is not the answer.

The minority that Dupuis speaks of is not “against Au Chateau’s” They are it’s biggest ally. Biggest supporter.
