This is much deeper than it appears. Was it an 'oversight'? No, but certainly it was a mistake. Now we have to ask ourselves, how is it possible that we denegrate our vets at home, call everyone and their father a Nazi for trying to preserve their culture and raise well adjusted children, but yet find the time to praise a real Nazi in Parliament. Something is very wrong with our culture.
Interesting material. The granddaughter who changed her last name, she works as an auditor with the CRA ( based on her Linkedin), so she probably is proficient enough in financial matters.
What is disturbing in this whole story is that a Nazi SS soldier has been living a happy life, having family, children, being literally a prominent member of community - while the lives of those whom SS killed (Poles, Jews etc) were cut so short, and they had no chance.
Thank you for the important investigative work. I believe that due to the connections that you show, Rota was in a vulnerable position to be gamed by people who have a positive emotional attachment to the Nazis. Our culture is a whole is vulnerable because we are encouraged to believe that all narratives are equally valid, which, among other problems, has been eroding the memory of the Holocaust and other Nazi atrocities. https://oldwildhorses.substack.com/p/trudeaus-apology-is-all-fair-in-love
Awesome work.
Thanks Scott.
